WASHINGTON (October 17, 2022) — On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan will travel to Cleveland, Ohio to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act at an event along the banks of the Cuyahoga River, a river with a history of pollution so serious, it infamously caught fire on numerous occasions. The river was among the polluted sites across the nation that inspired the 1972 passage of the Clean Water Act, and the river has since been restored and improved under the historic legislation.

 

Administrator Regan and participants will be available to press for questions following the program.
